Environmental projects will always need volunteers...

You’ll find environmental projects running all over Wales. Our schools and communities are taking up the challenge, to protect the local environment, preserve the natural landscape and create open spaces that everyone can enjoy.

So if you’re looking to join a campaign, you should find a myriad of volunteer groups and activities near you.

In towns and cities, you’ll find residents cleaning streets and riverbanks. In rural areas, you’ll find local groups restoring woodlands and churchyards. Along the coast, there’s work to be done protecting and upgrading beaches. And in schools, environmental projects are reaching out into communities.

So how can you help out?

Every project is unique, so the scope for volunteering is almost limitless. For many, it’s about pitching in – getting some fresh air and exercise while making new friends and doing some good. But maybe you can bring other skills or knowledge to the group? A flair for organisation, some technical expertise, publicity or fundraising skills...contributions come in all shapes and sizes!

Below, you can see some of our latest environmental campaigns. Just click for details, and see how you can get involved. There’s a lot to be done:
